STORIES
Real Stories. Real Change.
Every student's journey is unique, but they all share one thing: the courage to dream bigger. These are their stories.
Chen Hongjiang
Guizhou, China
"I realized that my future didn't have to follow just one path."
Growing up in Guizhou, Chen Hongjiang believed his future had already been decided. Like many visually impaired students in China, he expected to earn a massage therapy diploma because it was the only path he knew.
Through one-on-one mentorship at Lighthouse Impact, Hongjiang met visually impaired university students and graduates whose stories expanded his sense of what was possible.
Today, Hongjiang is preparing for the IELTS examination with the hope of studying abroad one day. Guided by a visually impaired English mentor who taught himself the language, Hongjiang is now pursuing a future he once never imagined.
